2560 Young Avenue, Bronx, NY

When we were waiting to head out to LaGuardia a couple of weeks ago, we drove by our old "basement apartment" in the Bronx. Funny, but it looked different. There looked like a lot less trees on our street and yes, the house looked smaller. The house next door looked the same -- I would love to know if the same family lives there -- the ones who slashed our tires when we parked in "THEIR SPACE" one time.

Down the right-hand side of the house was the entrance to our basement apartment. The apartment originally belonged to Kenny and his brother Richie. It looked all overgrown this time, like it would be tough to get down there without taking your head off. I will never forget the 1st time my parents came for a visit. The door to the apartment had 2 keys; one to lock from the outside and one to lock the door when you were on the inside. We didn't have the key that could lock the door when we were inside. The first morning after my parents stayed with us, my dad headed out and found a deadbolt that he quickly installed so we could lock the door from the inside LOL!

Here is the next door neighbor's house. People told us not to park in "THEIR SPACE"; the public street space that was in front of their house...they were right :(

Yes, I remember that house - doesn't look a lot different. Didn't have quite as many levels/stairs as your current one, huh?

Is this the same house that Mom and I came to visit you in. I seem to remember there being sheets for doors. Don't know if that is right or not.

Dear Brant the Great, Yes! This is the one and only house I lived in in NY. Now, the sheets came into play when it was summer and we tried to keep the air conditioning in the 2 rooms that had the window units in them! LOL, you have a GREAT memory!!!

Wow, your pictures brought back memories of when Richie lived there and then when you and Ken moved in. It looks the same to me.
