If I Believed in Bad Luck!

Poor Kyle McClellan! Did we bring him bad luck? Did we put the "Hazelwood, Russell Elementary" curse on him? Oh, let me back up, we went to the STL Cardinal/Braves game tonight. We sat near the Cardinals bullpen and brought our "Russell Elementary loves Kyle McClellan" signs (he went to Russell, Kelsie and Cam's old school and his dad owns the Fieldhouse where the kids took softball/baseball lessons); got him to see the signs and wave to us...then...it happened. He got called into the game, trotted out from the bullpen...and lost the game. Oh my...but, we did have a good time nonetheless. Pictures to come.

The Count was 3-2, Bases Loaded, 1 Out

After having 16 pitches thrown to him...Cameron singled into center field last night! 16 pitches!!! A new pitcher had entered the game and Cam fouled off 11 pitches before sending the ball into center field for a single and an RBI. His team won 7-3 last night. In the first inning, he also caught a hard line drive hit to his left (he was playing 2nd base), threw to 1st to double the runner off there. And that's a winner! (Cards beat the Cubs last night too, in case you didn't know!)

"This is the Air I Breathe"

I just ran across this: Steven Curtis Chapman lost his 5 year old daughter in an accident almost a year ago. He was at the Dove Music Awards this week and had this to say:

Backstage he talked about how difficult the past year has been, especially handling media requests to talk about the tragedy. But Chapman also spoke of how his faith has sustained his family as they navigate what he calls "the new normal."

"Scripture hasn't just become more precious, but it's become the air that I breathe," he said. "There have been some mornings where I'm not sure if I'll be able to get out of bed, but now when I read the Bible, it's become my oxygen."

It's Not That Simple

The Easter message at our Church. I know, mapping 30 mins (or so) to watch normally wouldn't be on the top of our "to do" lists. But, if you can, please at least turn it on and listen while you are doing something else, if you can't sit down and watch it.

More Rare, Never Before Seen Footage

I think it was 3 weeks ago, on a Saturday when the kids and I had an eventful day. Kelsie went to ride at the barn in the morning, so Cam and I tagged along. We met "Kelsie's" new horse, Blackjack (pic below with her "real" owner...He is a big horse.

Then, what a day! Vicky and her sister came through town on their way to Hilton Head...yes, I was hoping to go along at least for a few days, but that's a whole other story...so, we met off of I-75 at our favorite place, Chick Fil A...

I decided that from now on, I take all of my pictures with a fish face, until I lose 20 lbs...

Then...after about 2 hours, Vicky and Dori headed southeast and the kids and I headed....down the road about 1/2 mile to meet the Linn's who were on their way back from Disney...for dinner (yes another dinner!) at Fuddrucker's. What a great day we had....

Happy Opening Day!

Go Cardinals! I can't believe it is opening day -- I hear the temperatures haven't been too friendly today -- but Cardinal fans will come out in force nonetheless.

Off We Go...

I wish all of us were going, but Kenny has to work since he's been galavanting around the past couple of weekends. So, the kids and I are heading South tomorrow. Jupiter, FL. We are going to miss spring training by about a week, but I am sure we will find plenty to keep us busy, or better yet, not busy. Maybe I will have time to update the blog with some pictures from the past month or so...we'll see!
