House

Here are a few pix of the house we put an offer on. We'll see what happens, see what God's plan is on this. Yes, I am including a picture of the kitchen, just for fun. Although if I do not have a job, Kenny says I must cook and clean...come on job!

ATL & the Earthquake!

Quick post -- Last minute Wednesday I decided to fly to ATL on Thurs morning. Thanks to my parents for rushing down at the last minute to hold down the fort. I didn't know that I would be leaving them to tend to the kids during an earthquake! I woke up this morning and checked my phone and Kelsie had sent me a text at about 5:00 AM that there was an earthquake. Of course I wondered if it was true, but sure enough! My mom said she thought my dad was falling out of bed, then Kelsie came running in! No damage thank goodness. My child who takes after me, Cameron, slept thru the whole thing :) Please let us know if you felt it where you were by leaving a comment!

Anyway, looked at many more houses yesterday, praying for just the right one at just the right "price point" (a little 'realtor' lingo I have picked up). We took some pix last night at "Alive after 5:00" in historic Roswell, we'll have to post them later. I am the one who looks very tired after a long day of house-hunting.

Great Adventure Book Club, Part II, and, Just a Little IDOL

Ok, just have to tell you again about my friend Vicky's Book Club -- LOVE it!!! (And I am really not biased - :) ) Anyway, she just put a new selection on there -- of course I am too lazy to get out of bed at this time of night to go get my credit card, but my selections are still in my "shopping cart" for tomorrow. Anyway, there are cool baseball books on there now (I am going to get 'the everything kids baseball book', but don't tell Cam, it's going to be a surprise - ha!), and also two of my all-time favorites, 'Five Minutes Peace' and 'The Hungry Caterpillar' -- I am ordering those for a friend of mine (I can't say who and why b/c sometimes she reads my blog -- don't even try and figure it out) :) Anyway again, was just excited about the new selections and thought I would share with you all.

Idol tonight: Well, David Cook did it again -- who knew he could sing Mariah -- now THAT's impressive. Brooke, well, I thought she was going to throw up during her song, did you see how her lips were shaking? Kristy Lee sings country Mariah Carey? Hummm, now that was interesting. 12 hours to come up with a prediction on who gets the boot???? The pressure.

The First Outrage of the American Idol Season

The first true outrage happened last night. No! I don't think Michael Johns should win the title of 'American Idol' this year; No! I don't like those silly scarves he wears around his neck (ascots? what are those?) No! He never matched his 'Bohemian Rhapsody' performance which might have even been during 'Hollywood Week'. No! No! No! But what he did do was be WAY MORE MARKETABLE than:

Archuletta
Brooke
Castro
Kristy Lee Cook
Sayesha

Yes, every season has at least one outrage. The only bigger outrage, in my humble opinion, would have been David Cook getting the boot. You heard it here: David Cook will be this year's American Idol

It happened on Saturday...

It was a busy day -- here are some pictures...

The day started off at Kelsie's volleyball tournament, I am missing those pictures, though. They looked pretty much like the ones I posted earlier of a different tourney :)

Ken took Cam to batting practice...

Then Cam went to his friend Noah's house and Kenny came to volleyball. After the tourney, the real work started...at the house:

I wish I had a "before" picture of the backyard; Kenny did a lot of work back here.

Not looking too bad....lots of work happening today...although don't look too close; I know, we have to put those piles of papers away...somewhere...

Not bad here either -- wait! Where is my stack of stuff that has been sitting on the ottoman for about 2 months???? I am never doing to be able to find anything!!!!

Now I actually did work in the kitchen this past week -- it's looking better...

Our painter came over today and did some painting up the stairs and down the hallway -- Jewel approves...she's coming out of one of her favorite stomping grounds in the house, bathroom number 2 where she drinks out of the toilet :) EEK.
Ok, now...it's looking pretty good around here, don't you think? but....there is still work to be done....

By the time Kenny goes back to ATL on Tuesday morning, he promises to have the basement cleaned out....

And the garage so that I can park the car in it while he's gone...stay tuned...let's see if he can accomplish the nearly un-accomplish-able...the house shall be ready for market, well, pretty much, by TUESDAY morning, April 8th, 2008!

The Cardinals Opening Day (almost) Starter was...

Adam Wainwright. But we got rained out, so his start was "wasted". Now, Kyle McClellan. Cam has a new favorite Cardinal. McClellan teaches at The Fieldhouse where Cam & Kelsie take baseball/softball lessons. McClellan taught right next to Cam's instructor and is good friends with Cam's instructor. His dad is part owner of The Fieldhouse and is very proud, walking around wearing his Cardinal hat. So, it's kind of exciting watching a local boy make the big leagues.

Bonnadean Gardner Collins

That's my mom! I asked her not too long ago how my grandparents came up with her unique first name, but she didn't remember. And, she doesn't have a middle name (Gardner is her maiden name, which you should know if you participated in my poll about Kelsie's middle names)! Guess that's why she gave me 2 middle names and I gave my kids 3 middle names. My poor grandkids, they are in for 4 middle names if the trend continues.

Anyway, April 4th is my mother's bday, so a big shout out to her. You know what? I think I missed shouting out my dad's bday...that was 9 Feb, sorry dad. Anyway, happy birthday mom and thanks for being such a wonderful example for me. Ok, granted, I haven't quite picked up on the whole cooking and cleaning example, but don't give up on me!!!!
