So...Cameron was Right, Unfortunately

Well, what can be said except the Rockies got Rocked and Cameron was right; the Sox not only beat the Rockies, they swept them. Cam predicted it and I hoped it wouldn't happen, but it did. Now, Cameron is trying to change the bet from "1 (one) soda" to "as much soda as he can drink in one day"! I don't think so. He informed me this afternoon that I get him a soda all the time, so what would be so special about that? I told him it will be special because I won't make him pay for it this time :) ha!

Today is one of my least favorite, if not my very least favorite days of the year. No, not Oct 29th, but the official end of the baseball season. I am so glad that we didn't change the clock back already b/c not only would the season be over, but it would be over AND dark outside already. At least Cam has a double header Friday night, his last of his season...that will get me thru this week I guess.

Until Spring Training!!!

100 and Going Strong (I hope)

UPS turned 100 years old and recently celebrated with a UPS Family Day. The only Saturday of the year that I had to work, so I didn't get to take part, but the rest of the family had a good day. Here is a cute pic of Cam in the brown truck. Remember...'What Can Brown do for You?' :)

My Sister

Thank you for continuing to pray for my sister. She went back to Iowa City today and had her 3 month check-up. All continues to be good -- her blood work and her scan were normal, the same as they were 3 months ago. Praising God from whom all blessings flow.

DAY OFF!

Well, I had a big plan to take my camera with me today and document our (Kelsie, Cam, me) day off, but...I forgot to bring it with me. Have no fear, though, I still managed to sum up the day with a couple of pictures. One of these weeks, I am still going to document our week, just for fun...a photo challenge that I will throw out to all of you...again, just for fun. The kids were out of school AGAIN, so we went out and about today. We didn't accomplish everything I wanted to, but we had some fun along the way. So...here are the pictures that sum up the day....

Can anyone relate???

Praise & Prayer

Monday is my sister's first 3 month check-up. I just found out that she went ahead and had her blood test done in the Quad Cities and it came back normal! Praising God. On Monday she will go back to Iowa City for the scan, so please pray for that to go just as well. Thanks :)

A Week Full of Celebrations!

The Hand family has a lot going on this week! A birthday shout out first to Gabrielle! Gab, the card is not in the mail yet, but I promise that it won't be as late as last year's card (I hope).

Today is my mother and father-in-law's 49th wedding anniversary! WOW! Hope you have had a great day of celebration.

October 13th brings Gena's birthday -- Happy birthday Gena! I hope your brother didn't steal your present out of the card this year and that it arrives safely. I believe October 13th is also Richie and Justine's anniversary, if I remember correctly -- so, happy anniversary to the Colorado Hand's.

No, I won't remember everyone's special days, but I will do my best. If I miss you this year, hopefully next year I will remember!

ENJOY everyone...

Throwing Down the Gauntlet?

I think that's the right terminology at least? I filed the claim against Best Buy today in Small Claims Court. The court date is set for 13 November -- I need to write that on my calendar, what if I forget, that would be a bummer! Anyway, the young lady who logged the claim in said, "We usually don't accept claims with all of these attachments, but oh well." Too funny. I had a 5 page detailed report of my efforts to get the hard drive back which were met with total indifference. I also had 8 attachments documenting everything. They may throw it out, just because I submitted too much info -- sometimes more is not better, but I felt I had the documentation, I was going to provide it, so we'll see. Here's to the justice system...let's see how it works.

2007 Post-Season

Well, another year has come to an end...well, at least for the 2006 World Champion Cardinals. I really don't even want to talk about it. Better to let it go into the history books and try and forget it. I will say, however, thankfully they stayed in the hunt until the last 2 weeks or so -- what if we had a team that was 20 games back 2 months ago? YIKES!

Now, I must move on to the NY METS. Yes, Croke family, I have to write about it, I am sorry, well, kind of. The lead was almost insurmountable. At least we all thought. I wasn't even paying attention to the fact that their insurmountable lead was dwindling, until about the last week of the season. I couldn't believe it. I still couldn't believe it yesterday when I heard that Glavine was scored on 7 times in the first inning -- who would have thought? I am very disappointed -- if I can't watch the Cardinals in post season, I at least want to watch the Mets. After all, can they be that bad? Afterall, Keith Hernandez, number 37 turned 17 played for them.

What do I have to look forward to? Hey, on 2nd thought, maybe a Yankees-Cubs World Series? That would be almost worth it.

Welcome to October...let the Cards fall where they may over the off-season.
