My LIttle Chipmunk

I can't find the camera, so this is as close as I can get to a picture of Kelsie today:
She had her last 6 baby teeth pulled this morning at the oral surgeon's office. She didn't seem nervous at all. They didn't let me go in the operating room with her. They gave her laughing gas first, then an IV to knock her out. I think the whole procedure only took about 25 minutes, but the recovery was longer than expected, over an hour. They wheeled her out in a wheelchair and basically, she looked like the chipmunk above. I think it was worse than she expected, but it's about 6 hours later and she's doing much better -- almost back to her normal self.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat...

We woke Sunday morning to another flood in our basement. If you are counting, that's 2 since we moved here. Last time it was the air conditioner causing it, this time the water heater. Kenny's blog has a video and some humor to help with the annoying parts of the situation. Anyway, we now have a new water heater...up to Georgia code no less (can you say $$$$$), and you should have seen us fighting each other to get the first shower with the hot water; it had been since Saturday, but who is counting? The huge fans from the insurance company are still here and they should be, I have the wet socks to prove it.

I Like this HairCUT

If this person looks familiar to the Idol watchers it's the pink-haired girl who made it through last week. THIS is the haircut I have been looking for. Will I get the pink streaks? Doubtful, but I might go for a little longer version of the cut. Now if I could only lose the 25 lbs in my face! Oh and yes, for those who have mentioned that her red lipstick clashed with her pink streaks, I noticed that too!

Well, THAT'S a Load of....

POOP! And look closely, it really is! It was a long day today...Kelsie had a horse show, Cam baseball practice. Kenny and Kelsie got to Conyers GA around 8:00 this morning. Cameron and I got there about 11:30, just in time for Kenny and Cam to head back to Cumming for Cam's practices. I tracked Kelsie down and there she was....what's become of her....sitting next to a big load of poop and not even flinching. Guess that's why her room doesn't offend her.

I said it was a long day and it really was. Conyers was at least an hour drive and Kelsie did not ride until the very last class of the day. I stayed in my own little area for most of the day today, catching up on some paperwork and reading. But, as the afternoon wore on I was getting anxious for Kelsie's ride. I was pacing a little, still probably an hour til Kelsie's turn. I looked to my right and as I often do, took a double take at the person standing not too far from me. My brother Alan has a lot of look alikes, and here was another one. So, to kill some time, I took his picture. Now granted, if you really look at this person, it really doesn't look like my brother, but at a glance it did. So, I decided, I'll look around and do some people watching...here's what I came up with...

Above is my brother Alan....below.....

BENJI! (Kelsie was like, who's Benji?) Next....no one famous, but...

A crazy woman dressed like it was 80 degrees out! What was she thinking? It was nice and sunny out, but ...not 80 degrees! Then, probably my most famous sighting of the afternoon......

Paula Abdul trying to figure out how in the world Tatiana made it into the top 36!

Finally time for the last class of the day -- Kelsie riding Dallas. One other thing I did to keep myself busy was to kind of keep track of how Dallas did during the rest of his rides. He had a pretty good day. I think he had a 2nd, 5th, 4th, and 6th place before Kelsie rode him....

Kelsie with her 2nd place ribbon!

Kelsie with her coach/trainer and a couple of the girls from her team.
It was a good day, but did I mention it was long? Cam and Kenny had a good time at Cam's practices....no pictures unfortunately from that.
Last but not least for tonight...happy birthday to my niece Lauren! On the 25th, Happy Birthday to my niece Alisa and my friend Mary J.!!!!

A Couple of Updates

A few pix from Kelsie's bday. A picture of her w/her small group from church who stayed with us for a discipleship weekend -- one of the leaders brought a cookie-cake to celebrate Kelsie's bday.

Yesterday Kelsie's equestrian team hosted their show for the season. My parents are in town, so they got to see her ride. Kenny was the announcer for the day -- I had to keep him under control b/c he wanted to break out into singing during the break.

This is the 6th place face I guess. She did really well I thought, despite the fact that her horse was a little testy yesterday.

Happy Birthday Dad!

January, February and March are heavy bday months in our family, on both sides. Tomorrow, Feb 9th is my Dad's birthday. He's celebrating in the Orlando area, so I wish him lots of sunshine and warmth on his bday.

I believe only 3 days later is my sister in law Christine's birthday, so let me throw a shout-out to her. Enjoy your day Chris!!!

Pictures hopefully soon on our busy weekend (check out Kenny's blog, he's usually way ahead of me). But the "Girls of Grace", Kelsie's small group from church were here this weekend; Most of their time spent here was spent eating junk food, drinking soda and sleeping...well, honestly I do not think much sleep happened, considering Kelsie has been asleep for about an hour already tonight and it's not even 9:00PM. Go figure. Cam's basketball team won their 1st playoff game Saturday night and plays in the 2nd round tomorrow night against the only undefeated team in the league. Watch out!
